Lesley A. Osman, Licensed Psychotherapist
Ecotherapy, Nature-based Psychotherapy & Coaching
What is your psyche's response to a world gone mad? The complexities and neuroses rampant in our modern narrative, is the root cause of the crisis in which we find ourselves, the depletion of natural resources, devastation of the ozone, poisoning of the earths water ways, and so on. The common Western psychological belief that the human psyche lies discreetly within the individual personality, clearly contributes to the sense of isolation and separation we endure. This mistaken independence from the rest of nature leads to suffering and disease. We are quite literally poisoning our minds and bodies. Separating the human psyche from the pattern which connects all life, and elevating it to a superior status, is understood by Ecopsychologists as the root cause of habits of the mind and body. We feel empty and isolated and want to fill the empty space inside with "stuff," but the "stuff" never seems to be enough.
Heal, grow and become connected by finding your place in the natural order of things. Incorporate the cycles and rhythms of nature for your emotional health and growth and life transitions in the beautiful Mendocino County.
Based on the understanding that human nature cannot be separated from external nature, ecotherapy understands that we suffer right along with the dying species, the logged forests and the polluted streams.
